A Head Start at Kindergarten

Starting school is a big transition, and we believe children should walk into their first classroom feeling capable and confident. Our programme gives children the academic foundations (phonics, sight words, early numeracy, problem-solving) and independence skills (self-help routines, following instructions, responsibility for belongings) they need to succeed. This early preparation makes the start of primary school smoother and sets them up for easier, more confident learning all the way through the early years.

We understand the challenges families face — especially busy and working mums who want the best for their children but don’t always have the time or confidence to teach at home. That’s why we partner with families by providing:

• Parent workshops that give practical strategies for supporting children at home.

• Home learning kits so learning can continue beyond the classroom in a fun and structured way.

• Open communication so parents always feel informed and empowered.

Inclusive & Culturally Responsive

Our community is wonderfully diverse, and we embrace that at Mini Scholars Academy. With bilingual educators and culturally respectful practices, we ensure every family feels welcome and understood. Children from multilingual households are supported in developing their English while celebrating their home language and culture building strong communication skills and a sense of identity.

Every child is unique, and so is their learning journey. We begin with personalised readiness assessments to understand each child’s strengths and needs. From there, we create tailored learning plans that guide their progress in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and independence. We don’t prepare children in isolation. We build strong partnerships with local primary schools to make transitions smoother, and we collaborate with trusted allied health professionals (speech and occupational therapists) for families who want additional support.
